Hatfield bulled his way to paydirt from 12 yards out on the Huskies人妖色情片 second play of the OT, handing Hoover an epic 13-7 victory over host Nitro in front of a loud and boisterous crowd at Underwood Field.
Nitro, which trailed at halftime 7-0, caught up on Eli Littlejohn人妖色情片檚 23-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, but neither team put any more points on the board in regulation, leading to an overtime session, with each side getting a first down at the opponent人妖色情片檚 20.
The Wildcats went first but were without Littlejohn, who suffered a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter and couldn人妖色情片檛 return. They had a second-and-5 from the 15, but were pushed back to the 20 by a penalty 人妖色情片 one of 13 flags against Nitro for a whopping 133 yards.
That drive ended with a missed field goal from 38 yards, giving Hoover an opportunity to win on its drive. Hatfield took that chance and ran with it.
He gained eight yards on first down, placing the ball at the 12. From shotgun formation, Hatfield then raced under center for a quick snap on second-and-2, and the result resembled a rugby scrum, with Hatfield and the Huskies人妖色情片 linemen pushing the pile all the way into the end zone to end it.

Hoover went ahead 7-0 late in the first quarter when Hatfield scrambled to buy some extra time and found Brayden Bailey with a 52-yard touchdown pass. It was one of just two completions for Hatfield, who went 2 of 8 for 79 yards.
It remained that way until Littlejohn got Nitro on the board in the third quarter. Each team had other good chances, and both saw long touchdown plays called back by penalties. Hoover also saw an interception wiped out by a defensive foul and missed a 23-yard field goal with 1:14 left in the game.
Penalties dogged Nitro the entire way. The Wildcats had a promising second-quarter drive that reached the Hoover 11 for a first down. However, a pair of 15-yard infractions ended that threat.

Nitro quarterback Josh Moody, who entered the game with eight touchdown passes and was averaging 324 yards in the air, completed 14 of 27 attempts Friday for 152 yards with no TDs or interceptions. He was sacked five times and lost a fumble.
Littlejohn carried 14 times for 86 yards and caught three passes for 10 yards. Malachi Thompson led Nitro with four receptions for 50 yards and just missed hauling in a scoring toss from Moody in overtime.
Hoover leads the all-time series against the Wildcats 27-16, including six straight wins.
